Challenge
GEODIS faced an inventory accuracy problem it could not solve at scale. A key customer was demanding more frequent cycle counts, but four manual counters working a full shift could complete only 800 location scans per day, and sustaining even that pace required significant overtime. When a license plate number could not be reconciled in the WMS, finding the physical pallet could take one to two days.
Solution
GEODIS deployed the full Gather AI platform to establish continuous, location-level inventory visibility across their facility. Gather AI Vision captures barcodes, lot codes, expiration dates, and box counts at scale, feeding that ground truth into Gather AI Co-Pilot, which reconciles it against the WMS and surfaces discrepancies through Gather AI Workflows in real time. The platform required no GPS dependency, no IT infrastructure changes, and no facility modifications.
Results
With Gather AI in place, GEODIS cut cycle count time in half and eliminated overtime entirely. A single drone operator now completes 1,200 location scans per day, exceeding the combined output of four manual counters.
